2010 Challenges.. I'll Bite...

First, make sure you re-vote for this month's book club. There was a 3 way tie. Second of all, you have until tomorrow to leave me a list of books to read next year, and enter to win a prize!

So, I know I said a month ago that I was failing miserably at my 2009 reading goals, and I did. But as an ever hopeful optimist I am willing to do it again. I am going to make an even extra special effort since I have gotten so used to blogging about my reviews. Plus, I am guaranteed books this year, by way of our wonderful blogger book club. ;)

So, 2010 reading challenges / goals ...

Read 10 books from my TBR pile picked my lovely blog readers (hopefully, I will read these 10 plus more since I have added more to the pile already!)

A-Z Authors (So it is supposed to be new to me authors, but that's no fun. I am just going to make an effort to do the A-Z part.)

Which leads too... A-Z Titles

Books that are also movies (I want to focus on reading books and then watching the movie .. I have a list started but I don't know if I will do all of them)
Gone With the Wind
Sense & Sensibility
Atonement
Great Expectations
The Bridges of Madison County
The Cider House Rules
High Fidelity
The Scarlet Letter
The Jane Austen Book Club
Because of Winn-Dixie
White Oleander
The Curious Case of Benjamin Button
The Reader

Participate in the Winter book Challenge from thenest.com (I know I won't complete it, but I want to participate)

And the one I've attempted the last 2 years.. Read 100 books (I know this is doable, but when I set goals I tend to not achieve them.. but this year I will do this.. I will I will..)

I also want to try to read more non-fiction and more classics. I think I can incorporate all of these goals in the direction my reading is going and in the varying challenges, it opens up more reading possibilities. Which is good. I like reading different things!

What are your 2010 reading goals / challenges??

Your goals are great. It's so hard to fit in reading so its great that you make it a priority. I have such a long list of books I want to read right now!

Great goals. I'm shooting for 100 books this year, and to read all of Jane Austen's works. Other goals I may or may not attempt this year are to read the Lord of the Rings series, to read Gone with the Wind, and to read the Eragon series. Good luck to you!

Great goals!

I think for me my reading goal is simply to going to be: READ! I'm in a book club (and there's your book club too!) so if all goes well I'm guaranteed a few reads ;)

Since I've been off I've read about 10 books!

I love the A-Z challenge and the rest of your challenges look good too. 100 books is always a good goal for a book blogger, even if you don't always make it. I only set my goal at 105 for next year so I have an easier reading year. Except that I joined all of these challenges and I don't think 105 books will cover them all!
Good luck!

I definitely signed up for the 100+ Reading Challenge and I am hoping to meet it in 2010!

I have never logged my reading before, so we'll see how it goes.

It's a worry of mine that I picked to start the year with Donna Tartt's THE LITTLE FRIEND, which is over 550 pages long. :)

My reading goals of 2010 are to read a minimum of a book a week and to review more books on my blog!

Great goals! My reading challenge for 2010 is to not buy a single book until I have read all the unread books that I own. I have multiple shelves, there is no reason for me to continue to buy books!!

My only exception to this rule is that I will buy the book club book IF I can't get it at the library.

I am going to try to read all 12 NBC books and read a biography a month. I have loosely set my "books read" goal at 100, but I'm not going to get too bent out of shape over that.

I love the idea of doing a books/movies challenge.
