So not a morning person
I have to get up around 6 am for awhile because I'm working full-time for a bit, and mannnnnnn. I do not like moving in the morning. I mean after I pull myself out of bed, I'm good, until the car ride. Then I get sleeeeeepy. Then I stop and get my morning coffee and I'm better again.
The worst?
My daycare arrangement means I actually have to get up and leave way earlier than I would really have to be up and out the door. So I am getting to work a half hour earlier and while it would be nice if that meant I could leave earlier, it does not, since I can't make children leave school earlier.
I should totally be using this time to do some projects / or something.
Instead? I'll sip my coffee while it is still hot and catch up on the Internet.
Clearly, productive important stuff.
Did I mention I am not a morning person? And that Isla and I are used to waking up around 8:30? Yeah, shoot me.

Blank Screen..
Don't you hate when you really want to blog, but you just sit there and look at the screen and have NOTHING to say?
It usually makes me want to go out and do something fun so I can write about it. But, I HAVE been doing fun things lately, but when I want to share? Nothing comes out.
I was going to post pictures of my kid, cuz she's adorable, but I realized I only took one photo since the last time I posted any, and it would take more effort to move it from my phone to the computer, so I was like eh... no..
Then I was going to blog about how my birthday is coming up, ON MONDAY!! And I was going to review my 27th year of life, and then I though.. ehhh, that's a lot of work.
So then I came and I was like ok, I will blog about my horrible day yesterday, but then I was afraid of the rant it would go into about freaking rude children and parents who allow their children to interrupt adults talking and not teaching them how to listen and how they are all disrespectful and realized I didn't want to do it. And there I just ranted a tiny bit..
And NOW, I am blogging about not having anything to blog about and I suppose I could have just not posted but I really wanted to blog.
So this is what you get.
Happy Wednesday. Two days until Friday!

A Perfect Sunday..
Woke up at 730 to some happy coos coming from the other room. Had morning cuddles and then got a chance to sleep in until 9 after the cuddler and the husband went to play.
A family breakfast of eggs and toast and then we went visiting.
We went to see my grandpa in his rehab center and made his day. He absolutely adores my child and wouldn't stop going on and on about her. Hip pain, what?
Then we went to my inlaws and had lunch with them and then the child got spoiled for Valentine's Day and entertained her grandparents with her tricks. (Climbing, crawling like a fool and pretending she can walk!)
Then we stopped by my parents to borrow my mom's car (I'm getting new brakes) and we got dinner!
Finally, we came home and watched some Grammy's with our girl and she didn't even pass out until 9pm! She took a 30 minute and a 45 minute nap during our car travels and an hour nap at my inlaws.
It was a great day to hang out together and see multiple family members. It's nice to get out and about and waaay more entertaining for the child! We get kind of boring.
I am impressed we were gone from 1030 until 8pm ha.
And here is an adorable photo from last Saturday.

Random Wednesday Confessions...
- I think Elf on the Shelf is a bit freaky looking and have no intentions of him gracing my home. It seems like work (for me, the parent) and promotes tattling. I think I will stick with, 'hey behave, because your presents can go back to the store or to other good little boys and girls." Or, Santa has a list and he will know... all without having a freaky little doll in our house. Plus, tattling? So annoying.
- I judge the lunches my students bring. Rice crispy treats, peanut butter crackers and fruit snacks? Not a meal. Nutrigran bar, chips and cookies? Not a meal. There are some really good ones. Apple, pepper slices, half a peanut butter sandwich, milk and sometimes dessert. Oh and lunchables are so gross looking. The meat and cheese make me want to puke!
- I have four loads of laundry to fold, a dishwasher to unload and dishes to wash but instead last night I Christmas shopped online, caught up on blogs and facebook.
- I really hope my kids learn their songs for our Winter Program soon because I don't want my off-key, tone deaf voice to be the ones parents hear singing.
- I bought 3 boxes of girl scout cookies and one box stayed in my car.
- Sometimes, err 99 percent of the time, I try to pawn my child off to her father when I smell she has a poopy diaper. ;)
- I sneaked a peek at my amazon wish list to see if anyone bought anything off of it (they did!!!).
- When people call me mama it takes a lot of self-control not to yell swear words at them. I have a freaking name.
- I'm so brain dead, I forgot the 'really good' confession I had.
- When I read stay-at-home moms say they they are there for ALL of the milestones and with their kid 24/7 and know what they do all day it makes me stabby. Unless you are a deadbeat parent, you ARE there for all the milestones, you DO know what your kid is doing and who the heck wants to be with anyone 24/7. But, that might be my insane need for alone time coming through on that last one. Frankly, the first time you see your kid crawl is the first time your kid crawls. He/she could have been crawling forever in their crib when you are asleep and you too, could have missed 'the first time.' I know what my kid does when I'm away from her, because I ask. Not too hard. Do I need to see her 24/7 to survive? No. It's stupid comments like, "I get to be there for ALL milestones," with emphasis added, that make more women feel insecure in their parenting choices.
- I like being away from my child. And my husband.
- I wish some of the 'older crowd' never got on facebook. Or, someone taught them they don't need status updates every day or telling us exactly what they are doing. Life happens, even if it is not recorded on social media.
- I cannot wait until Christmas break.

Don't you hate...
When something is on the tip of your tongue and you can't remember what it was? There is a poem posted in our bathroom at work that I wanted to post about.. and wouldn't you know it.. I cannot for the life of me remember the name of the poem.. or the poet and my googling is not working..
Needless to say, I am looking for motivation wherever I can. Winter has arrived and with it, my gloomy outlook.
You know what else it brings? The people who tell you to be thankful for what I have. Don't ya think I know that? Are you supposed to be happy 24/7 just because there are people that want what I have? Well dangit, I want something that I don't have. So bugger off.
In other randomness, cuz that is what this post is filled with... My baby girl is 6 months old and that means we have been breastfeeding for 6 months!! Woot woot!!! She is eating more big girl foods and so far has enjoyed some sweet potatoes, bananas, oatmeal, carrots, peas, and spicy beans and rice. I am hoping that I will cultivate an adventurous eating like myself.
And hopefully, I will remember to check out the poem posted in the bathroom stall tomorrow so next week, I can wow you with my words.
Or maybe I will forget and spend 400 words randomly complaining about being cold and not being done with my Christmas shopping even though I started in October.
Whoops.

Happy Monday to me..
You know what is gross?
Baby snot.
Well, snot in general. I hate seeing other being have snot hanging from the nose or flying out into a tissue.
What's worse? When your cute baby has snot flying oute and INTO HER mouth and you can't get it in time.
Gross.
Gag worthy.
At least it's not green.
Yet.

Back to School..
In honor of the first day of school around these parts, I came up with some back to school questions and hope you will play along as well!
I would say junior year because I had the BEST schedule ever, easy classes, awesome grades and basically no homework and hung out with my friends all the time.
2. Who was your favorite teacher?
My life science/anatomy physiology/ physics teacher. She was amazing.
3. What subject was your favorite?
English and Social Studies. But I had some pretty bad social studies teachers in high school.
4. What was your best summer and what did you do?
hmm.. probably the summer between high school and college. I worked a ton but I also played a ton. ;)
5. If you could have studied anything with no worries of a future job, what would it have been?
I would have taken tons of English and History and Law classes.
6. Did you prefer assigned seats or picking your seats?
Depended. If it was in high school and I had friends in the class, picking. If it was college and in my major, picking, but if it was outside my major, I hated the uhhh where do I sit. Especially when I got stuck in a class with tons of sorority girls.
7. What was your most awkward year of school?
Probably 7th grade.
8. Did you have classes with many of your friends?
In high school, almost all of them. In college, not until I got into my major. Before then, I was a lone duck in most of them at MSU.
9. Did you have a job in high school?
I always babysat, but I also worked at Sears and at an after school program.
10. What extra-curricular activities did you participate in?
I was a big ole nerd. Student Council (secretary), National Honor Society (prezzzz), softball, basketball, track, Quiz Bowl, Foreign Language Club and lots of other random crap.
Hope you will play along!

Friends
"I get by with a little help from my friends.."
Sometimes they are the only thing holding in the tears on a rough day or the only thing that keeps me from pulling the plug on job searches. Love my friends. They can make me laugh, smile, and make myself feel like a million bucks again, even when I want to wallow in self-pity.
And it doesn't hurt when they call the people who hurt you bad names and tell you how much they suck for passing you by.
Everyone needs friends like mine.
Love them!

Addicted to Tv..
It's almost obnoxious how much television I watch. I never watched a ton of tv growing up or in college, but it seems as soon as my husband and I bought our house and "grew up" we turned into tv watchers.
I think television took over from the other stuff that once kept us busy: sports, part-time jobs, school work, hanging out with friends, working out, etc. We officially hit old ate ages 23-24 and would come home, eat dinner and veg on the couch.
Most days our tv is on from the time we get up until we go to bed if we are home. That is sad people and I don't think I can change!!! There are so many good television shows out there! (And probably part of the reason why I am always trying to lose weight, the pull of the couch and tv!!) We claim to be exhausted and it's so easy to just fall onto the couch with a laptop and the tv to entertain us all evening.
We even go to bed with the tv on. We are a sad sad lot. I mean Jon Stewart has been a standby for years and we have to go to bed to wake up early, so Jon comes to bed with us. Then Colbert comes on after and these days we tend to eevn forget to hit the sleep timer. Whoops.
I don't want Isla to grow up watching a ton of tv, but I don't want to live with my tv off! I like tv! I love it! I need it! I also can't stand it to be quiet which is part of the reason I have it on all day. I don't even watch all the shows anymore, I just need the noise. So sometimes I use music, but tv is easy to turn on and zone out too.
I have a problem and I really don't want to fix it, even though I know I need to fix it! I seem to add new shows daily and Netflix doesn't help that nor does having on-demand.
Some shows I would suggest to those of you who would like new shows or want to add to their tv addictions?
Law & Order SVU or Law & Order regular re-runs LOVE LOVE LOVE. Funny story, the class my husband and I had together in college would finish right before 10pm and we would rush back to his apartment to watch it every week. ;)
In Plain Sight, Rookie Blue, Army Wives, Rizzoli & Isles, NCIS, NCIS: Los Angeles, How I Met Your Mother, The Good Wife, Criminal Minds, Archer, Burn Notice, Boardwalk Empire and I'm sure there are others that I can't remember...
It's sad. I could find something to watch 24/7 and can typically tell you when shows are on. I need a life! Or a break from my tv.
Anyone else hopelessly addicted??? Or do you all have better lives than me?
