TGIF!

Our house painting project is finished! We had painters here last week and they finished up on Monday.  Our whole upstairs got painted and our downstairs bathroom.  As goes house projects, as one is finished the others come along.  Today, my brother is coming to help put in some new light fixtures and then on September 9th our new carpet in the living room and on the stairs headed to the basement will be replaced.  As soon as we saw how lovely the paint in the living room looked we were like, yup, got to get new flooring in the entry way now! Which, we've talked about a lot but just seeing the contrast was like yeaaaaaaah.  Same with our bedrooms.  We were going to put carpet in them, however there is a worry about asbestos in the linoleum so we will probably just lay down some pergo at some point.  I feel bad for the baby's room because we won't do it in there unless we speak with a builder first because the 3-5 year plan is to expand out the back and add a master bedroom/bath.  Phew.

My favorite picture from the week:

i love this picture.  her eyes are closed and we have better 'versions' of this but this is her.  pure 8 year old goofy.

The high of my week was spending so much time together on vacation and seeing my kiddo's expressions about seeing her first in person waterfall and Pictured Rocks for the first time.

The low of my week was Thursday.  I felt miserable all day.  I could barely walk and when the baby was moving it was just so uncomfortable.  It was bad.  4 more weeks to go.

The book I’m reading is The Runaway Midwife by Patricia Harman.  This is my second book by her this summer and I really have been enjoying her writing style.  This one is having me turn the pages quicker than the other book, but I think it is more because of the 'action' to the plot.  I just finished Ivy Aberdeen's Letter to the World by Ashley Herring Blake and that was a fabulous middle grade novel about a young girl who struggles to find herself in the wake of her discovery that she may just like girls.

The best money I spent was the check to the painters!!!!! :) Do not like to paint or do any kind of house project myself.  I would totally buy a brand new house to never have to deal with 'improvements!'

My plans this weekend include  we thankfully do not have any for the long Labor Day weekend.  School starts on Tuesday! Light fixtures tonight and then probably attempting to clean up some of the construction dust and move/organize some stuff in the baby's room.  College Football is back so I will be watching my Buckeyes and eating some delicious chip dip while I do so.  The husband is going to smoke some pork and we will freeze some for later in the fall.  But we will be playing it by ear.  Oh, grocery shopping will have to happen at some point.  I made a meal plan for next week and I need to stock up on some pantry staples.

What are your weekend plans? What are you reading?
